What is a quality picture?
Think of a typical landscape picture or a picture of your favorite person standing in a garden. Most of these photos are not in focus in the front, nor in the back. Normally, they are focused somewhere in the middle of the picture, i.e., the persons face, etc. Our typical astronomy images are much the same and may appear flat (no depth). Our Chromograph (a 4000 lbs./1800Kg, 14 foot/ 4.3M long machine used to resample your picture), corrects the focus from the front, to the back of the image as a by-product of image resampling. The net result is that your picture has depth! We used this landscape picture Amateur and professional photographers all agree that this printed picture is of world class archival quality. (Better than museum quality) Many of us create great pictures. The problem is when we take our pictures to the local photo shop to have them developed and enlarged, or enlarged and printed from a digital file, it’s always a dismal failure. The pictures are full of artifacts, water marks, and well, they just lack the WOW factor as there not really in focus. What I have noticed is that most customers pictures are better than the photo shop reproduction/enlargements. The overriding reason why your local photo shop/mat does not provide the desired results, is that they do not have the equipment, nor do they have the interest in creating true “Archival" quality pictures. They are not in that business, they don't have the equipment for this type of work and they work on the premise that “good enough is perfect”. At IMAGETECH-ONTARIO we do nothing but take your pictures to the level of world class imagery. We have the equipment and at IMAGETECH-ONTARIO we work on the premise that “only perfect is good enough”..
